Day of Learning

Welcome to Shoreline's Day of Learning!

Shoreline employees will engage in a day of learning on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.  This is an exciting opportunity for us to come together, learn together, and build on our great legacy of creating a campus culture of support and care. 


We’ll enjoy a mix of presentations and interactive sessions to introduce the Inclusive Excellence framework, the equity scorecard and focus on the “three Es” from our Strategic Plan: Social Equity, Ecological Integrity, and Economic Viability.

Important Notes:

  • All full-time  Shoreline employees are expected to attend; part-time faculty are warmly welcomed and encouraged to attend
  • Classes will be cancelled and campus services will be closed to allow for maximum faculty and staff participation
  • Faculty can earn 2 hours of Equity and Inclusion (for the Plenary Presentation and the Inclusive Excellence during either Cohort Session 1 or 2) as well as 2 hours of Student Engagement (for the afternoon interactive session).
  • Lunch and refreshments will be provided (vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options will be available)
  • Some readings will be sent out in advance to maximize our learning together



8:00-8:30 — Check in, Coffee, Light Treats (PUB Main Dining Room)


8:30–9:20 — Plenary Presentation (PUB Main Dining Room)


9:20-9:30  Travel Time (various locations assigned by cohort)


9:30-9:45  Cohort Introductions


9:45–10:55  Cohort Session 1 (Topic: either Inclusive Excellence, or Ecological Integrity & Disciplined Excellence)


10:55-11:05 — Vitality Break


11:05–12:15  Cohort Session 2 (Topic: Whichever was not presented during Session 1)


12:25–1:10  Lunch (PUB Main Dining Room)


1:10-1:20  Travel Time (various locations assigned by department/division group)


1:20–3:20  Data Video Presentation, Interactive Session


3:30–4:00 — Ice Cream Social Gathering (PUB)
