Application Process and Instructions

 Application Instructions:

  • Application:  Complete an application.  Please note that there are character limits for each section.
  • Budget:  Complete the budget worksheet.  You are encouraged to speak with someone who has experience with budgets at the college (such as the Budget Office) while you draft the budget for your proposal.  You are also encouraged to contact Human Resources to validate salaries in your project.
  • Signature Page:  When all of the sections of your proposal are complete, fill out and print a signature approval form, the printable version of your application, and budget, and have your supervisor review and approve it by signing the signature approval form.  Please budget enough time for your supervisor to sign and approve your application.
  • Submission: Please submit the application, budget, and signature approval form electronically to the Strategic Planning and Budget Committee.
  • Rubric: Review the Innovation Proposal Rubric .  The Innovation Fund Review Committee uses this form to guide their comments on each proposal.
  • Follow-up Report:  Project leads will submit a report to the Innovation Fund Committee each year for the duration of the project.

Timeline for Submittal:

  • February 3, 2017 – Applications are due before midnight; late applications will not be accepted, so please make sure to plan appropriately.
  • February 10, 2017 – Application reviewers will submit questions to the applicant (if there are any unresolved issues with the application or areas needing clarification).
  • February 17, 2017 – If questions are submitted to the applicant, then the applicant must respond to the application review committee by the end of this day.
  • March 10, 2017 – The Executive Team will make a final decision on the application and email that decision to the applicant.

Need Help?

As an option, the Director of Grants is available to review each Innovation Fund proposal prior to submittal to ensure the project qualifies as “innovative,” and does not contain weak or unclear sections.  To request a review of your application, please provide the Director of Grants at least 3 or more days advanced notice (by email).  Please note that you are still responsible for writing and submitting your application.
